Scooby-Doo was modeled by Mike Wilson. The model is created using the SolidWorks surfacing tools.

Anna, how do I check if hyperthreading is on or off.

I don’t know if anyone who’s on a tight budget will find this useful, but I have to say that I’m getting a ton of good mileage out of my Firepro V3750 and Athlon X2 (one would probably want to go with a more updated CPU nowadays)
Oh my! I can’t imagine this was done by SW. Incredible!
Any step by step tutorial?
Newbie question. How was this rendered?
Mine looks lame.
Hey just a question:
When you press CTRL+Q the first time I get 57s and the second, third and on… I get 49s! What is intended to be the result, the difference is huge????
bye, Z
Zmago2,
What version of SolidWorks are you using?
If it is SolidWorks 2010 you probably did a ctrl-q rebuild and save first, which did a conversion to the SolidWorks 2010 file format.
After the conversion is made to SolidWorks 2010 the rebuild will be quicker in the Scooby-Doo model. I experience this on my computer.
For the Scooby-Doo surface model SolidWorks has made improvements in rebuild speed for 2010.
Cheers,
Anna
Mine gets 22.63 seconds on Solidworks 2010, is it good or bad?
maxwell render engine can be good for rendering in solidworks
Probably the easiest way is to open task manager, if it’s showing more cpu’s than you have cores/chips, then hyperthreading is on. Alternatively, you can go into the bios and find the hyperthreading setting and see if it’s on or not.
This scobby thing is a pretty cool little tool, but why aren’t results getting posted?
I built a $500 machine in January which pulled a 14.5sec rebuild. I uploaded the results and they were never posted. It’s a DFI Lanparty MI (that’s a microITX format) w/ corsair ram running at 1600mhz and a quadro 3700 I snagged off feebay.
I didn’t have the cash for a true cad station at the time, so it was built to be retasked as a multimedia front end and used as a CAD station in the meantime.
I just finished a true ‘CAD’ station, got about $1000 tied up in it and it’s scoring a 12.64sec rebuild. (yes, I have a screen shot for proof if needed.)
It’s an Asus P6x58d w/ i7 930 overclocked to 3.67, mushkin ram running at 8-8-8-1T@2009mhz and a WD 64GB SSD, graphics courtesy the ebay quadro 3700.
I don’t see why people spend five grand for a machine like this. These two machines are cost effective, easy to built and smoking fast for the buck.
How do I download the model It wants a username and password?
Craig,
We are having some issues with our application that hosts the files. It is down at the moment. I expect our IT folks will have the issue fixed later today.
When it is fixed you will be able to download the files.
Cheers,
Anna
When are we going to see some of the new socket 1155 processors tested? I am itching to see how a 2600K fairs against the current 1366 Core i7 Processors. Have any benchmarks been submitted yet Anna?
Matt,
Check out the punch holder benchmark. The Sandy Bridges are fast….
Cheers,
Anna
